Reading requirements and book tests

Mile High Karate’s reading curriculum builds the mind of a Black Belt alongside the body. Each test follows its book chapter by chapter, and many questions ask students to connect what they read to their own training and to the nine qualities of a Black Belt. Your instructor will tell you which book you are reading now.

Reading Requirements: Beginners, Black Belt Club and Leadership

4-page guide

The full reading path in one place. Beginners read The Psychology of Winning and What to Say When You Talk to Yourself over the 16-week mindset curriculum, with chapters matched to each week’s lesson. Black Belt Club levels 1–3 and Leadership levels 1–3 each run 12 months, with the books and chapters due month by month.
