Meet the Christensens

Amanda and Stephen Christensen have provided martial arts instruction for families with Mile High Karate in the Thornton/Westminster area since 2003, shortly after they began training alongside their two daughters. They own and operate Mile High Karate Thornton, which is independently owned and operated by Tasak LLC as a Mile High Karate franchise.

For more than 20 years they have worked with the local community, supporting schools and raising funds every year through before- and after-school enrichment programs in the Jefferson, Adams and Brighton school districts. See school programs.

Alexandria Christensen, 4th Degree Black Belt, is head instructor in Thornton. She began teaching the school’s youngest students at age 14, served six years in the Colorado Army National Guard and worked four years as a registered behavioral therapist for children with autism.

Getting started

Your first class

New students start with an introductory lesson so the instructor can meet the student, explain the program and set a first goal. Wear comfortable exercise clothes and bring water; no experience or special fitness is needed. Two classes a week is the standard recommendation. See the new student guide.
