Programs by age
- Preschool martial arts — short, active classes that build listening, coordination and focus.
- Kids karate, ages 4–6 and 7–12 — character lessons in every class and the Black Belt as each child’s long-term goal.
- Teen martial arts — fitness, self-defense and leadership for teenagers.
- Adult martial arts and self-defense — conditioning and practical self-defense for any starting fitness level.
- Family classes — parents and children train together.
- Bully prevention — how to recognize, avoid and respond to bullying, with confidence first and physical skills last.
- Before- and after-school programs — enrichment in the Jefferson, Adams and Brighton school districts.
What every program shares
All programs teach American Freestyle, developed from Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do, with the nine qualities of a Black Belt built into the belt system. The curriculum is overseen by Grand Master Jeff Smith, Chief of Instruction. Mile High Karate was founded by Grand Master Stephen Oliver in 1983 and has promoted more than 1,000 Black Belts, ages 5 to 76.
