Mile High Karate Thornton is owned and operated by Amanda and Stephen Christensen, who have led Mile High Karate in the Thornton and Westminster area since 2003. The school is part of the Mile High Karate organization founded in Colorado by Grand Master Stephen Oliver in 1983, which has promoted more than 1,000 Black Belts.

Classes include kids karate for ages 4–6 and 7–12, preschool martial arts, teen and adult classes, family classes and bully prevention.

Two classes a week is the standard recommendation, and families often train together.
