Fitness, self-defense and leadership
Mile High Karate Thornton teaches martial arts to teenagers at 3979 E 120th Avenue in Thornton, Colorado. Teens build real fitness, learn practical self-defense and develop the confidence and leadership that come from working toward a Black Belt.
Teen classes are demanding. Students work on conditioning, kicking and striking technique, traditional forms and controlled sparring with padded safety equipment, alongside practical self-defense and awareness.
Teens also learn to set short-term, intermediate and long-term goals and to follow through on them. Many take on leadership roles in class as they advance, helping instructors and setting an example for younger students.
No experience is needed to start. Teens progress through the belt ranks toward the Black Belt, which takes about 48 months of consistent training.
